Three Children of Edwin Strand Struck Dead Yesterday Afternoon.

Friday, July 17, 1891. KILLED BY LIGHTNING. Three children of Edwin Strand Struck dead yesterday afternoon. About 1 o´clock yesterday a storm came from the west, and before the rain began falling a bolt of lightning descended in the western part of the city, struck a pine tree and killed three sons of Edwin Strand who were sitting under a tree. The lightning left the tree a few feet above the roots and struck the children and entered the ground in two places, making holes in the earth several inches deep. The names and ages were Charles, 10 years and 9 months, John Edward, 7 years and 3 months and Albert 3 years and 11 months. The bodies were somewhat marked at the place of contact and their clothing and hair scorched by the lightening.

De två äldsta barnen var födda här och familjen lämnade Sverige 1887.

Tragiskt, eller hur?
