Axling från Stockholm

Från amerikansk bekanting fick jag följande :

Here is what I have on Martha Axling,
born: 24 Jul 1861 Stockholm, Sweden
died: 18 Jan 1925 Avard, Oklahoma
married 1 Jan 1879 to John Sheppard Bliss
had 13 children between 3 Aug 1879 and 17 Dec 1902

From family notes and stories, Martha was born near Stockholm, Sweden, and emigrated to the US when she was about 12. (In the Census reports, she emigrated
in 1870). Her father was believed to be a sailor, and with her mother's death, she moved to the US, don't know if father died before 1870).

Before she was married, I think that she lived with her Uncle - John Axling (born Dec 1826, Sweden) and Aunt Martha (born Oct 1825, Sweden) in Goshen, Kansas. John Axling came to the US in 1850, and Martha in 1846 (do not know Martha's maiden name). Before Martha arrived in the US, John lived in Galva, Illinois in 1870 with his wife and daughter, Ida.

Sex: M
Title: B.H. colonist
Birth: 1826 in Ljusdal Parish, Gävleborg Län, Sweden
_FA1: B.H. colonist
Note:
The following notes are copied from: Svenskarne i Illinois, by Johnson, Eric and Peterson, C.F., Chicago 1880.
As translated by John Norton, Moline, IL., USA

p. 68, Sven i Illinois, p. 44 of the translation
In church matters, Galva is not behind any other Swedish settlement, despite Robert Ingersoll's views having won a foothold in the minds of many, of which not a few are Swedes. The friends of Christianity have been active here among our people with zeal and success, and especially successful has been the Methodist mission. On 3 May 1867 a Methodist congregation was organized here, whose leaders were Lars Hanson, Olof Peterson, John Lind, John Axling, Lars Boström, Nils Blomberg and Olof Johnson.

Chrissan!
